Barnes, Sipe, Seal & Thorin In The Lounge presented by WMOT/Roots Radio
Thu, Feb 15 7:00 pm
Bluegrass and jam-band headliners converge into one all-star group featuring banjo legend Danny Barnes, virtuosic drummer Jeff Sipe, Eric Thorin, and Mike Seale that will explore Danny’s deep catalog of music. The 2015 recipient of the Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass, Danny Barnes was a founding member of the Bad Livers and has shared the stage with the likes of Dave Matthews, Bill Frisell, and Mike Gordon to name a few. The quintessential jamband drummer, Jeff Sipe was a founding member of Aquarium Rescue Unit along with Col. Bruce Hampton, Jimmy Herring, and Oteil Burbridge. Over the years, Jeff has held down the drums for Leftover Salmon, Warren Haynes, and Phil & Friends. Mike Seal is a unique guitarist who is perfectly at home in Jazz or Bluegrass. Mike currently tours with The Jerry Douglas Band and has collaborated with The Jeff Sipe Trio, The Jeff Coffin Mutet, and The Black Lillies. Rounding out the line-up is uptight bassist Eric Thorin, who has worked with Tim O’Brien, Darrel Scott, Tony Trishka, Drew Emmitt Band and more.
